Description

Founded in 1908 and based in Aigle on the eastern side of Lake Geneva, Badoux Vins is a traditional winery with an estate of more than 50 hectares. Long seen as a pioneer in the Pays de Vaud, Badoux is the driving force behind one of Switzerland’s most famous wines Aigle Les Murailles, which has gained international acclaim.
“Murailles” meaning “fortified walls”, refers to the stone walls which support the very steep vineyards of Chablais. Such an atypical setting requires an army of pickers at harvest time as well as a helicopter to bring the grapes down to the winery! The lizard displayed on the label is a local resident which is frequently seen around the vineyards in the summer, basking in the heat during the day and hiding within the stone walls at night. This wine is renowned as actor Roger Moore’s favourite tipple when he lived in Switzerland and is a regular feature on British Airways 1st Class wine list.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Beautiful lemon yellow color, deep, clear and sparkling
Nose: Fine and delicate, with aromas reminiscent of linden blossom, mineral and chalky notes typical of the gypsum-veined terroir
Palate: Elegant and fruity, it reveals aromas of mango, linden flowers, accompanied by a subtle mineral touch. The generous and powerful structure envelops the palate
