Description

Why we love it
An excellent, award-winning Verdicchio with lovely aromatic qualities, depth and texture.

Tasting notes
Pale gold in colour. On the nose, complex aromas of vanilla, honey and fresh floral notes. Full and rounded on the palate with stone-fruit flavours and light touches of spiced honey and vanilla on the long finish. An elegantly structured wine with great poise and balance.

Food pairing
Drink with seafood dishes, white meats and semi-aged cheeses.

Additional information
The Cantine Belisario co-operative is the biggest producer of Verdicchio in the Matelica DOC, a
smaller zone than Castelli di Jesi. The climate is more continental than in Castelli di Jesi and the combination of warm days and cool nights gives a longer growing season, and lovely aromatic qualities to the wine.

The grapes underwent partial cold maceration at 0°C for four hours, before fermentation over 22 days at 16°C. Malolactic fermentation took place. The wine was aged for 12 months in a combination of stainless steel (95%) and 225-litre toasted oak barrels (5%) before bottling. The wine then remained in bottle for one year prior to release.
