Description

Named after the original founders of the estate, the Avignonesi family, the winery has undergone an exciting journey since it was first established. Acquired by Virginie Saverys in 2009, Avignonesi has grown in size and at the same time has become a leader in biodynamic viticulture in Italy. To date, the estate has grown to 175 hectares of vineyards including the purchase of a state-of-the-art winemaking facility in the Montepulciano appellation. 2019 was a great year for wine. Warm weather albeit not dry, was the background to a great production in terms of quantity and quality. With just the right amount of rainfall, work in the vineyards never stopped and great attention was placed to the grapes to balance warmth, rain and soil.

TASTING NOTES

Cantaloro Rosato with its light pink onion peel colour has intense notes of grapefruit and lemon followed by guava and watermelon. The flavour is fresh and fruity with a dry finish.

FOOD PAIRING

Light salads, light pasta and rice dishes, especially with seafood, raw and lightly cooked shellfish and grilled fish and goats’ cheeses.
