In 1756 Guillaume Raymond cooper in Listrac Médoc bought his first vines. He thus unknowingly in-augurated a long line of winegrowers which still endures today. Château Saransot Dupré was classified as a Superior Cru Bourgeois in 1932, a classification renewed in 2003 and it won the Crus Bourgeois Cup in 2017. Being a former property of Listrac, Saransot-Dupré is fortunate to own a vineyard in one piece. The large enclosure of Saransot represents a set of 38 hectares of which 17 are in vines the rest being made up of natural meadows and a few groves.

Merlot provides the base: aromas of chocolate cherry plum and a long, sweet body. The Petit Ver-dot brings its power which the Merlot can sometimes lack and aromas of red fruits. The Cabernet Franc enhances the whole with its freshness and elegance. A touch of Cabernet Sauvignon can add a bit of rigour in sunny vintages.

It goes very well with all meat dishes, cold cuts, grilled meats, game, cow’s milk cheeses and sheep’s milk cheeses and vegan dishes.
