Why we love it
A traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a lovely aromatic element to it – excellent value for the quality on offer.
Tasting notes
Ruby red in colour. On the nose, aromas of ripe black berries, cherry, kirsch, dried herbs and spices, with lifted floral notes. The flavours intensify on the palate with the addition of a peppery spiciness on the finish. Perfume, concentration and elegance.
Food pairing
Drink with hearty rustic dishes, such as a rich beef and mushroom stew, lamb shanks or shepherd’s pie.
Additional information
Font de Joubert wines are made by the Charrier family from old vines, many of which are more than 100 years old. The vineyards are gently sloping with sandy soils, decalcified red clays and gravelly pebbles.
