In 1974, Jess Jackson bought an 80-acre field and transformed it into a vineyard planted with Chardonnay in Lake County, north of Napa Valley. In 1982, they make premium wine and the Chardonnay sells pretty well. Today, they grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc. Now Kendall-Jackson is turning itself to sustainability with water conservation, using solar power, renewable energy, and land preservation. The Vintner’s Reserve wines are the flagship wines of Kendall-Jackson and a pure reflection of California’s cool climate.
TASTING NOTES
This garnet gem delivers bright cherry, strawberry, and raspberry fruit with elegant earthy notes infused with cola and mild spice accents. Oak aging adds a hint of vanilla and a soft, smoky finish.
