Luminous Hills Pinot Noir

Description

Luminous Hills has been farmed certified sustainably since 2007 and is now farmed organically as well. Yields at Luminous Hills Vineyard are managed to match the character of the vintage to ensure the highest quality fruit. Each block with its unique soil-type and microclimate are tended to individually to optimise the unique character derived from the varieties and clones matched to each area. Built from three half barrels of the spicy 667 clone on the cooler higher elevation southeastern aspect and red-fruit driven Jory volcanic soils, complemented by half a barrel of 115 clone from the lower elevation southeastern sedimentary soil, providing dark tone underpinnings and depth. This microclimate in the vineyard produces finesse and elegance supported by a frame of richness and texture.

TASTING NOTES
Moderately light cherry red color in the glass. Shy aromas of oak-kissed fruit lead off. The mid-weight black cherry and blueberry flavors are long in the mouth as well as persistent on the cleansing finish. Silky in texture, the wine has some lingering oak influence that should subside with more time in bottle.
