Montepulciano D’Abruzzo Aldiano

Description

Tollo stands on a rounded hill at 150 meters above sea level, in the province of Chieti about 20 km from Pescara in Abruzzo. In this area the economy is based on the agricultural sector, in particular on the production of DOC, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo wines, as well as of excellent quality table grapes. In August 2019 it became Tullum DOCG , an important milestone for the Abruzzese wine world.

TASTING NOTES
It has a lively ruby red color with nuances tending to purplish. The nose is intense, recalling notes of morello cherry and fruity notes of blackberries, currants and black cherries embellished with delicate spicy hints of black pepper and juniper berries. On the palate it is warm and enveloping, with a silky tannic texture, and a good persistence in the mouth.

Best enjoyed with hearty, savoury dishes, such as beef brisket, hamburgers, beef bolognese, tagliatelle, ragu, and high-protein pizzas.
