Description
Pewley Down Vineyard sits on a south-facing chalk slope in a small valley on the southern edge of Guildford within walking distance of the town. Since planting in 2007 the vineyard and micro-winery have produced small quantities of bespoke still wines on a non-commercial basis. In recent years yields have increased and the grapes are now transported immediately after harvest to professional winemakers to be made into English Quality Wine.
TASTING NOTES
Pale pink salmon in colour – very expressive and open nose – exotic fruits, pear, peach, freshly baked bread. Good mousse, very delicate bubbles, intense fruit flavours. Very subtle.
FOOD PAIRING
The wine is excellent as an aperitif and goes well with lobster and other meatier kinds of fish
