Why we love it
A classic South African Chenin Blanc with a wonderful richness.
Tasting notes
Golden yellow in colour. Kumquat, honeysuckle, quince and citrus-flower notes on the nose. Medium to full bodied, with a line of crisp acidity. A rounded palate with a long finish of yellow stone fruit and lingering flavours of fresh ginger and pineapple.
Food pairing
Try with spicy squid or Lobster Thermidor.
Additional information
A relatively cold and wet winter gave way to late and disorganised flowering, and the vineyard team had their work cut out dealing with the unusual weather, which disrupted the regular pattern of activities. However, a generally cooler vintage has produced a wine of exceptional elegance.
The wine was matured for 12 months in a mix of new and second-fill French-oak barrels.
