One monkey! Much Fruit! No bananas! This is made from a now unfashionable hybrid grape called Morio Muskat. It has no direct relationship to Muscat but is very similar in character.
Why a monkey? While working in the vineyard, a little stuffed monkey was found. This was then tied to the end of the rows of vines to give the owner the opportunity to find it again. The monkey hung there until pruning and was the first thing to be seen at harvest. He is now the Morio Muskat mascot seen on the label.
TASTING NOTES
It’s full of fruit!! Wonderfully perfumed, full of elderflower, gooseberry, lychee, apple, hints of pineapple and a hint of spice. It’s zesty, spritzy, and off-dry and only 11.5% ABV.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Super fresh and grapey, it would be excellent with some Thai food, or sushi or drunk just by itself in the sunshine.
