Situated in the Cruet village, the Maison Philippe Grisard cellar offers you the traditional wine variety named “Mondeuse”. The land is situated at the Massif of Bauges Mountains and the soil is full of minerals that give their wines a strong personality. The wine vintage made out of the Combe de Savoie territory vineyards are exceptional examples of the pride and success of winemakers of the region.
TASTING NOTES
A lovely ruby red with a depth of colour that sits beyond Pinot Noir but is not too dark. The nose is mainly red berries with redcurrant and elderberry dominating. Above them, there is a lovely blend of ‘chutney’ spices including nutmeg, clove, juniper, and carroway.
As with so many wines from Savoie, this is an elegant and smooth wine in the mouth with the redcurrant taking centre stage. The spices and other berries appear in the finish which is long enough to appreciate them all.
