A powerful, harmonious wine, with the perfect amount of acidity, soft tannins and an unforgettable aftertaste – at an affordable price.
Tasting notes
Intense violet in colour. On the nose, aromas of ripe black fruits along with notes of liquorice, black-fruit compote and dried apricots, and touches of smoke, coffee and cocoa. Enveloping on the palate, with a nice thread of acidity, and lots of complexity and nuances. Polished tannins and a long finish.
Food pairing
Drink with steak, burgers or a rack of lamb.
Additional information
The grapes come from two old, low-yield vineyards, located on the plateau of Moradillo de Roa, at an altitude of 940 metres above sea level. The soil is sandy loam with pebbles on the surface and deeper layers of clay.
The grapes were manually harvested. They underwent 14 days of static maceration in large vats, followed by fermentation with native yeasts. The wine was aged for 18 months in new oak (French and Eastern European).
